TOPIC: Notary Commission Number

Notary Commission Number 2 years, 7 months ago #64

Hello:

The notary commission number I had when I became a notary in 2012 is not the same as the notary commission number I received upon renewing my commission. Shouldn't the numbers be the same?

The commission numbers are issued per commission, not per notary. Therefore, every time you renew your term of office as a notary public, you will be issued a new notary commission number for that specified term.
Once a commission expires, so does that coinciding commission number.

Every time you renew your Florida notary commission you will need to obtain a new notary stamp. Your new stamp will include both your new expiration date and your new commission number.
